By installing and using VidText ("the Extension"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree with these Terms, please uninstall the Extension.
2. Description of Service
VidText is a free Chrome browser extension that extracts text from video content displayed in web pages using on-device optical character recognition (OCR). All processing is performed locally on your device.
3. License
VidText grants you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive, revocable license to install and use the Extension for your personal or commercial purposes, subject to these Terms.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree to use the Extension only for lawful purposes and in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. You are responsible for ensuring that your use of extracted text complies with copyright, intellectual property, and other applicable laws in your jurisdiction.
You must not:
- Use the Extension to extract text from content you do not have the right to access or copy.
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Extension.
- Use the Extension in any way that violates the rights of third parties.
5. Intellectual Property
The Extension, including its source code, design, and branding, is owned by VidText. The OCR models used by the Extension (PP-OCRv5) are subject to their respective licenses. Text extracted from videos remains the intellectual property of the original content creators.
6. Privacy

7. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Extension is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
We do not guarantee that the OCR extraction will be accurate, complete, or error-free. OCR accuracy depends on video quality, text clarity, and other factors beyond our control.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, VidText shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of the Extension.
9. Modifications
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting on this page. Your continued use of the Extension after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.
10. Termination
You may terminate your use of the Extension at any time by uninstalling it from your browser. We may also terminate or suspend the Extension at any time without prior notice.
